Find out about the best golf courses in the city

Boca Raton offers a number of incredible neighborhoods, and each one offers its own unique blend of affordability and community spirit. From family-friendly areas to communities fit for royalty, Boca Raton has something for everyone!

Osprey Point Golf Course is a local favorite and has received certification as an Audubon International Classic Signature Golf Course for its conscious development of natural habitats and use of green-friendly Seashore Paspalum grass. This course is sure to challenge even the most experienced players.

Osprey Point Golf Course

The Osprey Point Golf Course in Boca Raton offers a fun, challenging golf experience for players of all skill levels. The well-groomed fairways and greens keep Osprey Point difficult yet friendly, and the staff can offer tips and tricks for playing your best round. The course is located in Burt Aaronson South County Park and is open daily from 6:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.

The first hole is a short par four that requires a precise drive over water to a green with a sizable front-left and right-side trap. The next hole, a 323-yard par five, is another reachable par for long hitters, but a trio of green-side bunkers guarding the green make the shot more tricky.

While Pete Dye’s Ocean Course is the star attraction at Kiawah Island Resort near Charleston, Tom Fazio designed another great course at Osprey Point. His design plays with the seaside resort’s coastal wetlands and lagoons, using them as natural hazards to complement the natural beauty of the setting. Fazio is known for his player-friendly designs, and he delivers at Osprey Point with wide fairways and adequate rough areas.

The putting surfaces at Osprey Point are a delight, featuring Platinum Paspalum turf that presents a consistent lie from tee to green. The fairways are also lush, with a nice mix of grasses that provide a variety of lies. And despite the fact that some “woke” golfers bemoan water hazards, Osprey Point’s forced carries on holes like 3, 11, and 18 add both challenge and strategy to the layout.
